The Group 1 Australian Oaks was always going to be a tactical tough staying test.
It was run at a very slow speed which was taken up by Blake Shinn aboard Aliyana Tilde, Streama settled well early and was really rleaxed under Hugh Bowman. Luke Nolen made a cheeky mid race move on Thy to speed up the Oaks, Thy took over form Aliyana Tilde and the pair raced away at the top of the straight but Streama was making ground yet ever so slowly and if you where on the favourite with 200 to go you where starting to worry because she just couldnt pick them up but as Champions do they find another gear and that she did winning by a long neck.
Streama’s win in the Patinack Farm Australian Oaks really stamped her as a quality filly. She will now be spelled and set for the melbourne spring with the Cups and Cox Plate possibly her main target.
